Er zijn Engelstalige e-mails in omloop waarin aangegeven wordt dat u in aanmerking komt voor compensatie van een scam, waar u zogenaamd het slachtoffer van bent geworden.

Het onderwerp van de mail is: "(IMF) is compensating all the scam victims From Benin Rep." De Fraudehelpdesk waarschuwt hiervoor.

Het IMF zou de schade die u geleden zou hebben gaan vergoeden. U wordt een groot geldbedrag beloofd, maar daarvoor moet u wel eerst een voorschot betalen. Hier is dan ook sprake van voorschotfraude; er wordt u in eerste instantie een groot geldbedrag beloofd, waarna er om een voorschot wordt gevraagd voor verschillende kosten die worden gemaakt voor onder andere het vrijmaken en overmaken van het bedrag.

Ga hier niet op in!
